Age of Empires Online Exclusive Interview

All the fans of Age of Empires will be happy to hear,
that Age of Empires takes the next step to enter the online market.

At the gamescom 2010 in Cologne (Germany) we met the program manager (windows publishing) Dex Manley of Microsoft.
Dex introduced us to all of the new features of Age of Empires Online directly on the show floor in the closed beta version.

So, What key features come along with Age of Empires Online?
- Every player has his own city
- You can visit your friend's cities
- beside useful buildings you can build decorative buildings in your city, just for show off

- game works with gamertags

Age of Empires Online uses traditional online RPG elements and implements them into the strategy genre
- different levels for your character
- equip your troups
- you can do quests alone or together with friends
- chat function to ask or get help from other users

Also interesting to note is that the game will be continued while being offline. Your workers are still collecting ressources, which will be saved in your city. While being offline, your city cannot be attacked by enemies.
