Very long nine years later, the Diablo 2 fans can play the new Diablo 3 demo at the gamescom 2010. The queue before the entrance of Diablo 3 was huge and the players were waiting up to 1 hour and more to play the game. Good for us, that we had a press pass and so TopConsoles came in into the back door without waiting and we had unlimited time to test Diablo 3.
Now four of the five classes have been unveiled: the Barbarian, the Witch Doctor, the Wizard, and the Monk. The Barbarian is the only class that Blizzard is planning to bring back from Diablo II for the initial release.
In a press conference following the reveal, the developer confirmed PC and Mac platforms, saying it had "no plans" for console versions, and added that it was too early to talk about a release.
Blizzard explained that the game would include drop-in/drop-out co-operative play and a mixture of random and static maps for its dungeon-crawling.
As I tested the game, I was impressed of the beautiful 3D graphic and the fighting animations in the game. I cannot say so much about the specific skills of the characters due to the limited demo version.
I can’t wait for the release of Diablo 3 and I am pretty sure we all are going to be blown away by the final version.
