NaturalMotion, a leading game technology and development company, today announced that Morpheme 3, its industry-leading animation middleware for creating high quality, believable characters, is available for development on the newly announced next generation portable entertainment system (codename: NGP) from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE).

“We are excited by the possibilities that SCE is opening up with NGP”, said Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion. “With Morpheme already powering numerous PlayStation®3 titles, it is amazing to now have the performance to run our technology at the same fidelity on a handheld device. This is truly a great time for gamers everywhere”.

Designed to give developers and animators unprecedented creative control, Morpheme 3.0 saves time and resources with improved real-time, graphical authoring and previewing of in-game animation. Morpheme is licensed by major developers and publishers in the games industry including Ubisoft, Disney, Codemasters, THQ, CCP, Bioware, Robomodo, and many others.

The NGP version of Morpheme 3 benefits from NaturalMotion’s early access to prototype hardware, and is available with immediate effect.

Yeah, I've seen this technology demonstrated at the Bradford Animation Festival. It's very compelling to blend character postures and movements to one another without too much effort and the over budgets. And softwares often fail to impress me as much, but this didn't.
Nice. Yeah i like to see videogames develop into that direction.
Did some animation work in college as well for 2 trailers we did.
With that software?
no with motion builder
Autodesk! Never heard of it, not until I searched it on the web.
