Probably just gonna get the game and the keyboard. The full bundle will be way too expensive, and I'm not all that interested in "going pro" anyway... Yeah it could be a useful teaching tool, but when you blur the line between playing a video game and playing a real instrument, it's like... what's the point of playing the game at all? Why not just play the songs for real on a real guitar?
yeah why don't u do that?
Well for me as a musician i like these kind of games.
You get together with your friends and can actually perform music, even if they're not that good, that's what the difficulty levels are for!

I played the game on the gamescom on the keyboard in pro mode and i have to say it's really slick. You really have to press the correct buttons, not just by color, but the real note!
Playing drums is much nice as well, due to the cimbals design. They now are designed just like a higher priced digital drum kit. They go down when you hit on them an shake, for the way they're hung up.

Rebel you should stop by and we play some serious rockband session :)
Haha YEAH! Just give me about... six years to scrounge up for a plane ticket to Germany ;)

Actually, I've been teaching myself real guitar for the past few months. I know a bunch of songs now but can only play a few of them particularly well at the moment. I just think there ought to be a distinction between playing Rock Band and playing real instruments, otherwise there isn't much reason to do both. I like the series not just because I like rock music, but because of its addictive gameplay and the fact that I'm much, much better at it than the real deal. Still, the beauty of it is that it's just an option and you can play both ways. I would still love to try pro mode, I just don't want to cough up the extra cash.
If you have the money for the plane ticket to Germany, I want to be the singer in of your Rockband session ;).
Fine by me. You'd probably want me to stay on guitar anyway, trust me :P
